PSOMA MANTALINA

Mandalina Psoma was born in Athens in 1967. From 1985 to 1992 he studied at the Higher School of Fine Arts in Berlin (Hochschule der Kuenste Berlin, degree 1991, postgraduate 1992). She returned to Athens in 2001. She has made many solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.

In her painting, Mandalina Psoma uses familiar iconographic codes to move into imaginary, almost eerie realities. Her works, with their peculiar realism and their silent but intense atmosphere, penetrate into the inner world of the viewer and bring out images that identify with his familiar experiences or with personal existential concerns.

In 2002 she was selected as the only painter from Greece to participate in the list of “Vitamin P, New Perspectives in Painting” by Phaidon Press, which includes 114 of the most important contemporary painters from around the world. She has done 13 solo exhibitions so far, 4 in Germany and 9 in Greece.
